We are back with a nearly-all-mp3 update that prominently features one of the most outstanding violinists of today, Rachel Barton Pine, as she performs the Hess 46 violin sonata, and the rarely-heard opus 105 and 107 folksong variations, live. We are grateful to Ms. Barton Pine and WFMT-FM radio for permission to include these materials on The Unheard Beethoven. In addition, we premiere a previously-unknown Beethoven song, Der Gute Fuerst, one of the many gems to be found in The Beethoven Song Companion by Paul Reid. Finally, composer Adrian Gagiu has authorized us to include on the site his Fourth Symphony, which is entirely based upon Beethoven's sketches for the Tenth Symphony (Biamonti 838). That makes more than an hour and one-half of new music for your enjoyment.
